Ladies who lunch: Paisley Tunic

There's something about this Zara dress that always makes me think of ladies who don floppy hats, and lunch on a patio overlooking a marina. This is an incredibly easy piece to transition from day to night. The silk material and paisley print already make this dress festive, so for night time I would just pile on some gold bracelets, and freshen up my lipstick.

How to Layer

These pictures were taken last month when it was still warm enough to wear open toe shoes. I wore this moto style jacket to offset the girliness of this outfit. And to make my outfit pop, a statement piece was necessary. I opted for these unique earrings that my friend, Aarong made.

The number of ways to style a dress may seem limited, but it doesn't have to be. These layering tips will come in handy as its gets colder.

Wear a button down or loose sweatshirt to give the illusion that you are wearing separates. Here's another example.

Try pairing your dress with a jacket or a shirt underneath.

Now go mix and match your clothes! I'd love to see pictures of how you styled your dress!

Dresses-Marshalls Edition

8.19.2013

It's no secret that I love Marshalls. Whenever my sister and I tell each other about our recent Marshalls visits, the first thing we always say is "Oooo. Did they have anything cute?" I like sharing my latest finds from Marshalls with you guys. Don't forget to post a picture of your latest Marshalls find on Instagram with #fabfound for a chance to win a $50 gift card!

I'm a huge fan of Free People clothing. When I saw this Free People dress, I just had to try it on. I really liked the floral lace pattern on the waist. Although the dress was super cute, I didn't get it because I wasn't crazy about the rose print. Price Tag $50, but went on clearance for $35 later.

The first time I saw this dress was on Aimee from Song of Style at a Piperlime event. She was wearing the dress in purple, and I was obsessed with the color. Free People clothing tends to be a bit pricey, so I tried finding it at a discounted price but wasn't able to. However, I did find the dress at Marshalls in white and black. I'm a fan of white dresses, but I wasn't too thrilled about the yellow lining. Price Tag $50, but went on clearance for $35 later.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the designer of this dress. But it's a pretty color, and I liked the back of the dress. Price Tag $30. Similar one here.

This houndstooth Sans Souci dress will be great for the early fall. It will look perfect with a black biker style jacket and black heels. My favorite thing about this dress is the drop waist.  It's too bad they didn't have my size. Instead, I bought the medium and had it taken in on the back and sides. I debated having the armholes shifted up to shorten the dress. I was worried that the waist of this dress was sitting too low, but the tailor disagreed with me. Price Tag $25. Similar one here.

I wasn't sure how I felt about this Cynthia Rowley dress on the hanger. I knew it was going to be loose fitting due to the cut of the dress. A woman told me that I needed a smaller size. All I could think was "Lady, this is an xs. It's not designed to be fitted." I used my camera strap as a belt to see what it would look like with a belt. The braided straps add a nice touch. This dress also came in a blue pattern. Price Tag $30. Cute one here.

Another Free People Dress. The back of this dress isn't featured, but I liked that embroidery only continued down the sides of the back.

Collective Concepts Dress for $35.

Aren't these Rebecca Minkoff shoes gorgeous? I practically ran to them when I saw them on display. I'm slightly obsessed with shoes in the camel/tan family. I I have about six pairs in that color... Anyway, I wasn't willing to pay $100 for these gorgeous shoes. I knew they were going to go on clearance, so I waited for the price to go down. And I scored them for $69! Ignore my sneakers in the second photo. I was at the gym prior to this.
