In one of my last posts, I wore this skirt with a t-shirt as part of a casual ensemble. This time I swapped my tee for a white blouse. It's an easy way to go from casual to dressy.

Printed Perfection

Some people shy away from prints because they think they're too loud or don't know how to style it. But prints are one of the easiest ways to make an outfit fun and interesting because they're eye catching. If you're wearing a printed skirt with multiple colors, pick a top that is one of the colors on your skirt. For example, my skirt is navy, orange, red, beige, and grey, so I could wear a top that is any one of those colors. Ideally, I want to pair my skirt with a burnt orange top to make my outfit look snazzy and earthy (yes, that is a possible combination!), but I don't own a top in that color. When all else fails, resort to neutral colors such as black, white, cream or grey.

You can dress up or dress down almost anything. I wore this skirt with a gray tee and converse for a casual look, and threw on one of my favorite necklaces to add extra color. Next time, I'll show you how I dress up this skirt. How do you style prints?

Do you have that one outfit that immediately puts you at ease? You know that it always looks good. It feels comfortable, familiar and never steers you wrong. This is that outfit for me. It's my uniform on the days I'm running late or when I want to wear something laid back. A white tee and jeans are classic, and lately I've been into wearing them with my Bed Stu boots. I was lucky to find these boots for $50, since they usually retail for over $200. If you're looking for a pair of boots similar to mine, I highly recommend Bed Stu for their comfort and craftsmanship.

Chambray and Thrifty Ways

Can you believe that this is my first chambray shirt? Whoever came up with chambray is brilliant. I would describe it as a mix between a denim and an oxford shirt. Softer than denim but less preppy and more laid back than an oxford. Since there was a lot of blue going on in my outfit, I brightened it up with this necklace. It's almost possible to wear a bright, floral necklace and not have a good day!

I'm a big fan of tote bags and leopard, so I was naturally drawn to this bag. I bought it half off the original price which was even better. The zippers on the side are functional, so I can choose to hide or show off the leopard print. And as much as I love tote bags, they tend to lose their shape because I carry too many things and end up with bag sag at the bottom. I didn't want to spend $20 on a base shaper, so I used my thrifty ways to make one out of cardboard! It's not the best as cardboard tends to bend but it works for now.

Can't Get Enough of Stripes

Do you ever have those odd moments where you forget the most common words? I was playing Words With Friends and tried to make the word dour, but I didn't have a d. I used the letter f instead, and thought to myself "I don't know if four is a word, but whatever let's try." You guys, I forgot that four is a word, and to top it off I pronounced it like dour, but with an f. So I basically pronounced four as fower. How does this even happen?
