If plaid, tweed, and red velvet flats with bows doesn't scream preppy office attire, I don't know what does. I purchased the top I'm wearing over a year ago from Loft, and never wore it till now. I forgot that I even owned it till I found it when I was cleaning my closet one day. Ten points to Gryffindor for rediscovering clothing in your closet! And let's face it, dress pants can be boring sometimes. Try a pair of printed pants with festive, textured flats for a spin on your office look. Black And White For Those Breezy Summer Nights

As clean and chic black and white look together, I tend to avoid wearing it together. It brings back memories of having to wear a uniform through all of middle school. I used to count down the days till the next uniform free day, and I would be in such a dilemma as to what to wear. When you wear a uniform constantly, you want to wear your best clothes on a non-uniform day. But what if you can't decide between two of your favorite outfits, you know? Girl problems.

But this time I couldn't resist wearing black and white together. The twist detail of the top dresses up these casual pants, don a floppy hat, a woven blue clutch for a pop of color, gold accessories and I'm ready for a breezy summer night out.

Utility and Stripes

This is probably one of my favorite outfits that I've worn in a while. It's a little dressed up but still casual because of the utility jacket, and the darker colors are perfect for fall.

I'm so glad I bought this jacket. It's quickly become one of my favorite pieces because of it's versatility. It can be worn with jeans a t-shirt for a casual look, or a dress and heels to take it up a notch.

I finally finished all past episodes of The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. Both shows had me on the edge of my seat, especially The Walking Dead. Since I don't have a cable, and the new season hasn't aired yet. I've watched every single trailer I could find for The Walking Dead Season 4. Sounds sad, I know. I can't wait till it comes out on Netflix, so I could find out what the new, big, bad threat is! Anyone else a fan of either show?

Shimmy Shimmy Chic

This skirt was last worn here. I don't wear it as often as I would like because I have a limited number of tops that match the skirt. But, I think this black Joe Fresh top compliments the skirt really well. I was obsessed with this top when I saw it in the store. I called three different stores to find my size in black and white. What isn't there to love about this top? The laser cut outs are so much fun. It gives the top such a unique look, and texture. I even shimmied around to see if the dots would move with me, but they didn't.
Heels would have been ideal with this outfit, but I went with flat sandals to stay comfortable.



 Have you seen the caterpillar from Australia that's been dubbed as the mad haterpillar? It stacks its old heads on top of itself. No one knows for sure why they do this, but there is speculation that it's a form of self defense.

As you may or may not know, I'm a huge fan of Aimee from SongofStyle, so when I read that she was going to be in NY for the DVF loves Roxy event, I jumped at the chance to meet her. The event drew quite a crowd since there were bloggers, Roxy Surfer Models, Vanessa Hudgens, fans, PR people, etc. I was so eager to meet Aimee, but I couldn't find her for a while, and no one knew where she was. When I finally spotted her, it didn't seem like the right time to talk to her. She was busy taking pictures. I left disappointed, but I went to the Piperlime event she was hosting the next day. It was exciting to finally get to speak to her. I felt a little silly because I was kind of nervous. Aimee was super sweet, and down to earth. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of either events. But you can check out the DVF loves Roxy bikinis here. The prints are adorable. This green one is my favorite.
And in case you didn't notice...check out those babies on my feet! Hubba Hubba! I couldn't decide between the velvet loafers and studded flats, but I opted for the velvet flats since they were warmer. Which pair do you like better?
